Stage rasta roko in Metpally mandal headquarters
Demanded has been made to the government to supply power for at least seven hours in a day for rescuing the crops from withering
Karimnagar: Farming community rebuked the government over erratic power supply across the district on Tuesday. The farmers belonging to about 20 villages staged rasta roko in Metpally mandal headquarters on Tuesday. Similar protests were witnessed in front of power substations in several mandal centres, demanding seven hours of power supply to crops.
Farmers’ leader Alluri Narasimha Reddy said that various raising crops were about to withering due to interrupted and inadequate power supply. He demanded the government to supply power for at least seven hours in a day for rescuing the crops from withering. Mr Narasimha Reddy criticised the TRS-led government for not taking steps to overcome power crisis in the state.
