Rates of many liquor brands slashed to woo customers

Karimnagar: Ahead of Dasara, several wine outlets are giving special offers to woo the customers. Owners of the outlets claimed that they were witnessing huge sales in the last few days.People tend to consume more liquor during festive season and so the shop owners try to take advantage of it.
For instance, Lucky Wines, one of the major outlets near Telangana Chowk in Karimnagar city, slashed rates of many brands. Black Dog can now be had at Rs1,399 instead of Rs1,560. Another brand, 100 Piper’s price has been reduced by Rs 200. Rates of many other brands were also cut down in view of Dasara.
Another popular outlet, Raja Rani Wines has put up a banner of ‘massive discounts on purchase of liquor’ at the shop. A representative of the outlet said they had been registering sales of Rs 2 lakh a day in the one week. The sales would go up further in the next one or two days, he added. Karupakala Laxman, a resident of Boyawada in the city, said that it was good to have such offers.
“Usually, alcohol prices are increased at the time of some important festivals like Dasara. But this time around, the outlets have come up with special offers and it is surprising.” He said he was happy to know fo the offers and that he hopes to celebrate the festival really.
