The existing e-toilets start at Rs 2 lakh but the new one is just under Rs 1 lakh inclusive of insurance charges and one year warranty. Eram Scientific chairman Dr. Sideek Ahmed said the e-toilet came with an automatic flush before and after use, automatic floor wash, sensor controlled water usage that eliminates the need for a manual cleaner in schools.
According to Chief Scientific Officer of Eram Scientific K. Anwar Sadath, they have provided a ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ section on the website which has already been uploaded. “If we want to take it from one place to another, it can be done provided there is an overhead tank as well as a waste disposal unit. There are schools with more toilets that have been built than students admitted in the last 5-6 years, but the lack of maintenance and requirement for manual cleaning have made them dysfunctional. We are trying to address this gap”, said Anwar Sadath to DC.
