Belgaum: Police arrest 21, seize autos used by miscreants
Belgaum: The police have nabbed 21 people in the past two days for indulging in violence after the death of a youth on September 25. Most of the arrests were made based on video recording of incidents. They also seized some autorickshaws that were used to transport pebbles to help miscreants indulge in stone pelting. Police had earlier arrested 14 miscreants on the day of violence.
The police were arrested five people from the Camp police station limits and seized five autorickshaws from them. As per the video recording made by the police department, the miscreants had stored stones in the autos and use them to stone business establishments. Most of the posh shops and showrooms on College Road were targeted.
Nine people were arrested and four autos seized in Khadebazaar police station limits. Some other youths accused of stone-throwing incident were rounded-up at Malmaruti station limits.
