12 injured in knife attack at KFC outlet in China

Beijing: Twelve people were injured when aman went on a stabbing spree at a KFC outlet in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province today in yet another copycat attack by a disgruntled individual.
The suspect, a man surnamed Li, was caught at the scene, state-run Xinhua news agency reported. Li reportedly went berserk and slashed at diners at the restaurant in a commercial area in Daqing this evening.
Of the 12 people injured, two were in critical condition. A preliminary investigation showed Li, a native of Daqing, had been too ill to keep his job at a local factory.
He told police he had attacked out of despair, Xinhua report said. On September 26, four primary school students were killed in a knife attack by a middle-aged man in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
They were attacked by a knife-wielding middle-aged man while on way to a primary school. China has been witnessing a spate of knife attacks in recent years carried out by disgruntled people with various grievances.
Such copycat attacks were carried across China specially targetting primary schools and bystanders in malls and streets.
