Devotees take part in Garuda seva
Almost three lakh are expected to take part in the ‘Garuda’ vahanam procession
Tirumala: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and the district police administration have braced up with elaborate security as well as other arrangements for the ‘Garuda seva’ slated to be held on Tuesday night.
With the temple administration estimating that crowds not less than close to three lakh are expected to take part in the ‘Garuda’ vahanam procession on Tuesday, both traffic and security curbs have come into effect by Monday night itself.
Keeping in view the high traffic along the ghat roads, district police wing has suspended ‘two wheelers’ movement on the ghat roads on Monday and Tuesday, which will be resumed only on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the district police wing has fortified the entries leading into the Tirumala temple from all sides and literally sealed off in VIP entrance gate in front of Ram Bagicha guest house as a precautionary measure.
Besides the existing force of police close to 2,500 already rendering ‘Brahmotsavam’ security-related duties, additional forces have also been roped in, to cope with the high influx of devotees expected on Tuesday.
Barricading, entry and exit routes for the devotees, VIPs, TTD staff, media personnel and others have been reviewed by the officials on Monday. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam officials as well as the police authorities are confident that the big event would pass off without any glitch on Tuesday.
