Andhra Pradesh Medical and Health Minister gets tough on lethargy
Will take serious action against negligent doctors, warns Kamineni
Kadapa: Andhra Pradesh Medical and Health minister Kamineni Srinivas on Monday warned of taking serious action against the doctors who neglected their duties.
While the minister was inspecting the primary health centres in Kadapa district, the people have apprised him about the poor amenities at the PHCs and the negligent attitude of the doctors. He expressed ire on district medical and health officer Prabhu Das for the poor functioning of the doctors.
Later, addressing a review meeting of doctors and officials held at Zilla Parishad Sabha Bhavan, Mr Srinivas warned of taking serious action if doctors neglected their duties and stressed the need to offer proper treatment to poor and distressed people. Later, the minister inspected several wards at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences.
He told RIMS Director Siddhappa Gourav to bring to his notice the problems they were facing and get them solved.
Meanwhile, RIMS staff apprised the minster about the staff crunch in the X-Ray and submitted a memorandum to him to fill the posts as soon as possible. Government Chief Whip Medaa Mallikharjuna Reddy, Kadapa district Collector K.V. Ramana, ZP Chairman Guduru Ravi, DM&HO Prabhu Das and other officials participated in the meeting.
Mr Srinivas said that he prayed for the well being of all the people in the state during his visit to the Goddess Kanyaka Parameswari Devi installed at Ammavarishala in Proddatur in Kadapa district. During his visit to Proddatur Government Hospital, the minster assured to develop it to the possible extent. He visited several wards in the hospital and enquired about the facilities at the hospital.
