Andhra Pradesh to lift a few Drugs Act cases
Govt instruct the concerned additional public prosecutor to withdraw prosecution against the accused
Rajahmundry: The state government issued orders to withdraw prosecution against several persons booked under various provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and also under IPC based on recommendations of district collector and superintendent of police recently in East Godavari.
Under GO RT No. 1102, the state government directed the Collector to instruct the concerned additional public prosecutor to withdraw prosecution against the accused A5 to A7 and A9 to A15 involved in Cr No. 37/2005 under section 8 (C) read with 20 (b) (1) of NDPS Act, 1985 of Maredumilli police station pending before first additional district and sessions judge court in Rajahmundry based on the recommendation of the district Collector.
Similarly, under GO RT No. 1104, the state government directed Collector to instruct the concerned APP to withdraw prosecution against the accused Duvva Ramana involved in Cr no. 220/1990 under section 379 of IPC of three town CCS in Rajahmundry pending before III AJFCM court in Rajahmundry based on recommendation of superintendent of police.
The government also issued GO RT No. 1103 to withdraw prosecution against the accused Kalla Venkata Ramana of Srirangapatnam involved in Cr No. 80/1999 under sections 447,506 read with 34 of IPC of Korukonda police station pending before III AJFCM court.
