Mumbai: While it is a known fact that the plot of 'Haider' is inspired by Shakespeare’s Hamlet, the cast and crew of the film have been successful in keeping the detailed story under wraps. Not much has been revealed about the actors’ individual roles.
However, we managed to get a little bit of the inside story during a special screening of the film held on Monday. One of the guests revealed, “Shahid’s character in 'Haider', goes to Pakistan for militant training. He wants to learn the skills so he can avenge the death of his father (Irfan Khan) who was killed by his uncle (Kay Kay Menon). So Irrfan actually plays a ghost in the film.”
Vishal Bhardwaj has in his recent interviews mentioned that he has tried to capture the essence of the life in the valley during its peak insurgency period.
We tried to contact the film's spokesperson to confirm the same, but received no response.
