iPhone 6 now found bending while charging?

The claim states that the phone is overheating while charging and also tends to bend

Bendgate is the recent nightmare to Apple, with controversies about the flagship models iPhone 6 bending under slight pressure. Apple also claimed that only nine customers have complained with the Bendgate issue and they are investigating what could be the exact reason.

Apple also recently opened up its test labs to a few select journalists for an exclusive test on the iPhone 6’s bending theory. iPhone 6 bending is not unnatural—in fact, all phones can bend. The only difference is the exact pressure points for bending and how much weight or pressure is applied.

This time, out of the blue, a developer from Seattle, Kav Latiolais, broke out the news that his iPhone 6 bent for no reason at all. According to GeekWire, the story broke out with Kav stating that iPhone could have shown off their tests on the handset, but did not do it when charging it. He also claims that the iPhone 6 was overheating while charging, which could make the handset vulnerable to bending.

Kav states that after hearing different verdicts with the iPhone 6 in the news, he was paranoid and never mishandled his most expensive smartphone. He always would keep it in his coat pocket or in his hand.

Kav owns an expensive 128GB version of the iPhone 6 Plus. He claims that he had kept the iPhone 6 for charging overnight, resting against a wall. When he woke up the next morning, the iPhoen 6 was overheating and he noticed a slight curve on the chassis, which is easily told as a bend. “When I pulled it off the charger in the morning, it was bent along the angle it leaned on the wall. It’s almost as if it sagged. In fact, looking closely at it … I can see it’s not so much bent as curved, rounded almost,” he said.

Well, bending under its own weight is a bit difficult to digest. While overheating could result in metals expanding and warping, but that would involve a little more heat than what the iPhone could handle.

Though Kav’s statement cannot be pushed away as a lie, but is not convincing either.

Kav headed to the Apple store to claim for warranty and did manage to swap the piece for a new one. But the guys at the Apple store found his theory on how the iPhone bent a bit inaccurate. However, taking Bendgate into consideration, they did exchange his iPhone 6.

What do you think? Is it even possible for an iPhone 6 to bend under its own weight, even when overheating? Our first question would be ‘why are you even charging a new, highly expensive, iPhone 6 like the way it is shown in the picture?’
