Moonlight dinner on Krishna river soon
APTDC officials plan to make this dream that has been pending since the past two decades
Vijayawada: Very soon, citizens or visitors to Vijayawada, the state capital, will be able to enjoy dinner in the moonlight, in boats floating on the serene waters of the River Krishna.
APTDC officials plan to make this dream that has been pending since the past two decades, a reality soon.
According to sources, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has already directed APTDC officials to draw up plans to introduce the facility of having dinner on boats floating on Krishna River under the moonlight, as early as possible.
Mr Naidu’s directions would bring immense joy to the 11 lakh residents of Vijayawada, who are starved for entertainment facilities, save cinema halls. The proposal was initially part of the plans to develop Bhavani Island as a tourism centre, but the tourism department failed to implement it.
Now since the state government plans to develop the capital as a world-class tourist hub, the tourism department has woken up to the potential of the proposal. If all goes well, the proposal would be implemented by the year-end.
Principal secretary, AP tourism, Chandana Khan said that Bhavani Islands and Krishna course area would be developed as tourism hubs. She said that the plans are being actively pursued and the dinner proposal was expected to get very enthusiastic response.
