Kamineni reassures to develop Kurnool hospital on the lines of NIMS
Kurnool: Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas on Sunday said the state government would take all steps to renovate the Kurnool Government Hospital.
Inaugurating the ‘Cardiac, CME- 2014’, a seminar on heart diseases, on the occasion of World Heart Day here at the Hospital, he said that all the minor repairs at the hospital would be completed within one month.
Speaking on the occasion, he stressed the need the need to create awareness among people to check heart diseases. He said that the government was taking all steps to provide all the facilities in all the hospitals across the state.
The minister said that the government would develop the hospital on the lines of NIMS, Hyderabad, as promised during the Independence Day celebrations. On the occasion, he felicitated the doctors who offered outstanding services to poor.
Inspecting the Kurnool Government Hospital, the minister said that a cancer unit with latest equipment would be soon set at the hospital.
Referring to the poor medical services in the primary health centres, he warned of taking serious action against doctors neglecting their duties. Taking pride of the services rendered by the doctors of the Hospital to Rayalaseema people, he assured that the government would extend any help for the development of the hospital.
Expressing ire over the poor sanitation in the hospital premises, he warned of blacklisting the agencies responsible for such poor maintenance. Kurnool district Collector Vijay Mohan, SP Ravi Krishna, Care Hospital MD Dr Narasimham, Kurnool hospital superintendent Dr Uma Maheswar, medical college principal Dr Ram Prasad and health department officials participated in the meeting.
Later, he inaugurated BJP party office in the city and addressed parrty workers. Meanwhile, Rayalaseema zone paramedical medical association M. Brahmaiah demanded the government to fill the vacant paramedical posts at the government hospital. He, along with association secretary P, Jayaram, submitted a memorandum to the minister, in this regard. Mr Srinivas said that the Union government was extending full cooperation for the development of the state.
