Collector disqualifies eight YSRC ZPTCs

8 YSRC ZPTCs on Sunday for violating the party whip and supporting the candidature of the rival TD candidate
Nellore: District collector N. Srikant cracked the whip against as many as eight YSRC ZPTCs on Sunday for violating the party whip and supporting the candidature of the rival TD candidate during the ZP chairman elections held recently.
Leaders of the main opposition party took strong exception to the manner in which the TD leaders, who left no stone unturned in their efforts to woo the YSRC ZPTCs to get the required numbers during the ZP chairman elections held recently, lodged a complaint with the district collector to disqualify all the eight ZPTCs who crossed the line and violated the party whip by extending their support to the rival TD candidate.
Mr Srikant, after thoroughly going through the election ‘procedures’, disqualified eight YSRC ZPTCs for voting against the party whip. The disqualified ZPTCs are Kota mandal ZPTC G. Prasad Goud, Chittamur ZPTC D. Bharati, Manubolu ZPTC T. Ramesh, Chejerla ZPTC Sk Salma Shareen, Kavali ZPTC N. Penchalamma, Doravarisatram ZPTC M. Vijeta, Sitaramapuram ZPTC A. Jyoti and Vinjamur ZP-TC V. Narayana Reddy.
With the eight seats falling vacant owing to the disqualification of eight members, the collector has also written to the EC to hold elections to the vacant seats at the earliest.
