Mumbai: Director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, who have signed Shahid Kapoor for their film Farzi, have now added yet another name to their dream venture. Word is that they have been in talks with Nawazuddin Siddiqui to essay a grey character in the film.

According to a close source, the makers have agreed to pay a handsome sum to Nawaz for the film. “After the success of Lunchbox and Kick, Nawaz has established himself critically and commercially. He is here to make money and deserves the price he has quoted,” says a source. Apparently, the actor has quoted a whopping Rs 1 crore for Farzi. While the makers of the film have been trying to meet his expectations, Nawaz is unhappy with the news about him being a part of the film getting leaked at a nascent stage. Reason?

“Nawaz has verbally agreed to do the film. But he’s yet to sign it on the dotted line,” the source adds.

The actor didn’t have the best experience after the premature announcement of his on screen paring with Shah Rukh Khan in Raees. He has had a lot of explaining to do regarding his eventual ouster from that film. Farhan Akhtar has now replaced him in Raees.

So for Farzi, naturally Nawaz wanted to go the official way regarding the announcement about his part in the film. Clearly he wanted to avoid unnecessary speculations and controversies.
