Adilabad: Dressing like Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become a trend this festive season.
Prices of these garments have also come down as the festival nears, leading to a rush to buy “Modi type” jackets, kurtas and tight pajamas at stores in various towns.
Karnewar Subhash, owner of Kakatiya Menswear in Adilabad town, said that Narendra Modi-style jackets were available from Rs 700 unlike earlier and added that people were also asking for similar kurtas that the prime minister wears. He said that they have stocked more jackets following a huge demand for them.
The fashion trend is already being witnessed among children coming with their mothers to play Bathukamma everyday.
K. Rajasekhar of Adilabad town said that he had bought “Modi style” clothes for his 12-year-old son and for himself as it was a new trend among the youth and children and even parents were encouraging such dressing for their children as they considered it “traditional and dignified”.
The trend of dressing their kids like the PM and getting them photographed at studios is fast catching up and even villagers are coming to towns to get their kids photographed in NaMo attire.
