More sops to women employees: Minister

Paritala Sunitha said she would appraise the Chief Minister about the difficulties of women
Visakhapatnam: Minister for civil supplies Paritala Sunitha assured that they would take initiative in resolving two-year childcare and at least five months maternity leave to those working under contract or outsourced basis. She was addressing the first day of two-day state women employees convention organised here on Saturday and said she would appraise the Chief Minister about the difficulties of women whenever a team of state association leaders approach them.
Minister for Child Welfare, mines and geology P. Sujatha also participated. Ms Sunitha claimed that credit goes to the TD government in bringing property right for women, implementation of 33 1/3 per cent reservation for women in politics, formation of Dwacra groups and responsibility for the sale of sand reaches to self-help group members. She called upon all women to work hard and support the government in implementing its welfare schemes so as to reach the genuine beneficiaries.
Mentioning about the issues of the employees including harassment at work spots and molestation, Ms Sunitha assured that the government would take all steps to curb such threats.General secretary of All-India State Government Employees’ Federation Muttu Sundaram said that the federation has been functioning for leadership qualities. Appointments on contract/casual/outsourced basis are the major menace that was not being treated as other employees. He asked them to develop leadership qualities to help redress pending issues.
