Colourful expos add glitter to annual fete
Thousands of pilgrims made bee-line to witness the grandeur of the exhibitions
Tirumala: The colourful expos displayed by various departments of TTD stood as a special attraction with thousands of pilgrims making a bee-line to witness the grandeur of the exhibitions at Kalyana Vedika in Tirumala. TTD EO M.G. Gopal, who inaugurated the expos at Tirumala on Saturday, appreciated the special efforts of various departments including garden, public relations, forest, ayurvedic, museum, sculpture and other departments, which have helped add to the fervour of the visiting devotees on the eve of the mega annual festival.
The EO noted that the sand art, the mythological dioramas erected by the garden department as a part of the flower exhibition, the photographs depicting the glory of Tirumala with a theme of past and present were outstanding.“These expos not only attract the pilgrims but enlighten them of various interesting facts about Tirumala”, he observed.
Meanwhile, the religious themes including Sakatasura vadha, Saint Annamacharya pleading Lord for salvation, Setubandhana and Surpanakha being punished by Lakshmana, episodes from Ramayana, Bheema Garvabanga and Duryodhana hiding under waters of lake during Kurukshetra war, Vamanavathara, image of Goddess Lakshmi, Dragon with vegetables especially bitter guard, bell peppers, brinjal etc. caught the attention of the pilgrims during expo.
TTD specified authority chairman J.C. Sharma, garden deputy director Srinivasulu, chief museum officer Vijay Kumar, other officials and thousands of devotees took part in the inauguration of the expos.
