Ravi Shastri, Duncan Fletcher to stay till World Cup
BCCI working committee meeting decides to retain same staff of members
Chennai: As expected, the working committee of the Indian cricket board has decided to defer the annual general meeting in a bid to pave the way for president-in-exile N. Srinivasan’s return at the helm. Now, the AGM, which is set to elect Srinivasan for a third term, will be held here on November 20.The majority of BCCI members who attended the meeting felt that Srinivasan will get clean chit from the Supreme Court-appointed Mukul Mudgal committee which is set to submit its report in the first week of November.
Representing the TNCA, Srinivasan not just attended Friday’s meeting, but he was also felicitated by the house for being appointed as the first-ever chairman of the ICC in July. The working committee has also given its stamp of approval for Ravi Shastri to continue as the Indian team’s director until the end of the 2015 World Cup. Duncan Fletcher will remain the head coach of the side while the tenures of the three support staff members Sanjay Bangar, B Arun and R Sridhar have also been extended until the end of the WC.
