Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s US visit itinerary
Modi is on a five-day visit to the United States
Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will land in US on Friday for a five-day visit.
Modi is scheduled to spend time with President Barack Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton. He will also visit the Mahatama Gandhi statue and meet the Indian diaspora at Madison Square Garden.
Here’s an itinerary for his trip:
September 26
- Meeting with New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio
September 27
- 9/11 memorial visit
- UN General Assembly address
- Bilateral meeting with Prime Ministers of Bangladesh and Nepal and President of Sri Lanka
- Meeting with former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg
- Meeting with leading Indian Americans and non-resident Indians
- Global Citizens’ Festival at Central Park
September 28
- Meeting with governors of New York and South Carolina states
- Madison Square Garden address to Indian diaspora and meeting with select group of Indian Americans
- Meeting with representatives of Sikh communities in the U.S. and Canada and representatives of the American Jewish community
- Dinner hosted by the Indian ambassador to the U.S., S. Jaishankar
September 29
- Breakfast meeting with top executives from 11 multinationals, including Google, PepsiCo and MasterCard, followed by individual meetings with top executives from another six companies, including Boeing, IBM and General Electric.
- Meeting with members of the Council for Foreign Relations in New York
- Meeting with Bill and Hillary Clinton
- Private dinner with President Obama
September 30
- Site seeing visit to Memorial of Martin Luther King Jr, Lincoln Memorial and Mahatama Gandhi Statue
- U.S-India Business Council reception
- Lunch with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry
- Meeting with Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives John Boehner and the House Leadership
