Akshay Kumar did it in movies, Mahabali Shera to do it in real life
Mumbai: Kids – who have grown up watching wrestling as part of daily entertainment – and were often scolded by parents for imitating The Rock and The Undertaker now have an answer. Gone are the days when people in India said, “they have a different blood, belong to a different weather, it is pre planned.” Why? It is because now Mahabali Shera from India will be slammed on the same wood as them.
Shera made history on Friday being the first one from India to be signed by TNA Wrestling. He was selected and mentored by Hall of Fame star Kurt Angle, who visited India in 2013 to research on Indian wrestlers.
Earlier, it was only Bollywood star Akshay Kumar who was seen fighting with professional wrestlers in films.
“TNA is one of the biggest wrestling entertainment organisations in the world and I am deeply thankful and thrilled to be a part of it. With the organization featuring some of the best wrestlers in their talent roster, it is a great opportunity. I hope my inclusion will be a catalyst for audiences in India,” said Shera.
