Welfare top priority: Minister for Public Relations Palle Raghunath Reddy

Will extend schemes to all eligible people, says minister
Anantapur: Minister for Public Relations Palle Raghunath Reddy on Thursday said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was giving utmost priority to people’s welfare and development of the state on all fronts.
Interacting with the media here at Revenue Bhavan in Collectorate, the minister said that the government would implement several welfare schemes from October 2 and added that the government was committed to extend the welfare schemes to all the eligible people.
He said that the government had taken measures to ensure that the funds, released under SC, ST sub-plan, were spent on the welfare of the people of these communities.
Stating that the government was committed to provide quality education, he said that all the hostels in the state would be developed by spending Rs 2,000 crore within next two years. He said that the government was taking steps to waive off the loans of farmers and self-help groups as promised in the Telugu Desam’s election manifesto.
“The government is taking steps to strengthen information department. Health cards will be issued to all journalists soon,” he added. He said that the government would soon conduct D.Sc exam to fill vacant teacher posts.
During a review meet with the minister, the officials of welfare departments of SCs, STs, BCs, and differently-abled apprised the minister that they would need Rs 33 crore to disburse scholarships to 21,301 students in the district.
Referring to the dues of fee reimbursement scheme, Mr Reddy said that he would speak to the respective commissioners and get the funds released if the proposals the proposals were sent to him in presence of the district collector.
Stating that the government took several steps to implement welfare schemes in the Janmabhoomi- Mana Vooru programme, Mr Reddy called upon the people to participate in the programme. Anantapur district Joint Collector S. Satyanarayana, SC Corporation DD Ramana Murthy, BC Corporation officer Uma Devi and other officials participated in the meeting.
