Talk in Telangana dialect, K. Chandrasekhar Rao tells staff
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has asked officials to communicate in Telugu for the convenience of the public.
He said that he and the Telangana society would be happier if officials spoke Telugu in the Telangana dialect and asked them to avoid English when they communicated with lower-rung officials or commoners.
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao told officials that he would be happier if they spoke in the Telangana dialect.
“Try to speak in the Telangana dialect. I would be happier if you did that. Even Telangana society would feel happy as people would be at ease understanding you,” Mr Rao told officials while addressing Irrigation department engineers here on Thursday.
Stating that communicating effectively would play a major role in the successful implementation of government programmes, Mr Rao said, "Our communication should be so simple that people should feel at ease and understand it perfectly. I have been adopting this for long. I request you all to do the same."
He also advised higher-level officials to avoid speaking in English during workshops, seminars or meetings conducted with their department staff attending from remote areas of the state. "They find it difficult to understand if you speak in English. These meetings do not serve any purpose if we fail to communicate our aims and objectives in a manner in which they can understand properly and easily," KCR said.
