CBI yet to get notification on Manoj murder probe
Kozhikode: The CBI probe to the murder of RSS activist Manoj will be delayed further. According to highly placed sources in CBI, the agency has not so far received any orders in this regard. The crime branch SIT probing the murder of Manoj told DC that the CBI has communicated the same to its officials as well.
“We have not got any orders in this regard so far. Since there are no orders, no team has been constituted. Apart from the media reports regarding this, no official communication have been sent to us yet,” a senior Special Crime Branch, CBI, Tiruvananthapuram, told Deccan Chronicle. Meanwhile, SIT is going ahead with their probe and is interrogating C Prakasan, CPM Kizhake Kathirur local committee member, who was arrested for hiding the prime accused Vikraman at Payyanur.
“We are getting some vital clues that suggest involvement of some senior CPM leaders to the murder of Manoj. However, it is premature to come to any conclusion. We are verifying the phone records of some key accused already arrested by us. We will be taking Prakasan to Payyanur and nearby areas for evidence collection on Friday,” a senior SIT official said.
