Govt to introduce high speed bullet trains in nine metros, including Chennai

Chennai: Union railway minister Sadananda Gowda on Thursday told newspersons that the Central government was planning to introduce high speed bullet trains in nine metros, including Chennai.
The minister was in the city to inspect the Royapuram railway station on Friday. “We have been planning to make Royapuram station the third terminal,” Mr Gowda said, a decision he would take after the inspection.
He said that a mass cleaning drive would be conducted simultaneously at all railway stations in the country on October 2.
