Hundreds of students from C.B.M. College gherao the collector's office
Coimbatore: After students of two engineering colleges staged a protest on Tuesday, it was the turn of hundreds of students from C.B.M. College to gherao the collector's office here on Wednesday. The protesting students urged the government to take over the institution.
The students claimed that the institution had not filled the 33 vacancies for teaching staff despite the government giving the go-ahead to recruit staff. They squatted in front of the collector’s office and shouted slogans regarding their demand.
Students protested against the exorbitant fees collected by their institutions.
