Dad, son shot by suspected hired killers
Vijayawada: In a deadly act of revenge, two persons of a family were shot dead on Wednesday morning on a national highway near Pedda Outupalli village in Unguturu mandal of Krishna district.
Another person, who received severe injuries, is undergoing treatment at a hospital, according to DCP Tafseer Iqubal.
The deceased were identified as Gandham Nageswara Rao, 55, and his son Gandham Maaraiah, 36. The injured has been identified as Gandham Pagidi Maaraiah, 35.
Eight shells of bullets were found at the spot. Police suspects the role of hired killers.
According to information, the victims were accused in a murder case at Pedavegi village, West Godavari district.
While the victims were heading towards Eluru in a rented car to appear before the court regarding the murder case, they were attacked by a six-member gang who opened fire.
The victims’ car driver, who fled the scene, surrendered at the Eluru police station.
Surrounding areas of Unguturu and Vijayawada are being thoroughly checked by the police in a bid to nab criminals, who also came in a car.
Cops suspect it was revenge killing over family disputes.
