Nellore: Nellore zilla parishad chairman Bommireddy Raghavendra Reddy has invited the philanthropists to adopt and maintain schools and hostels of their choice at least for one year.
He said that the names of those offered Rs 2 lakh and above will be displayed in the institutions. He said that he is also offering his honorarium to encourage students of ZP Schools scoring highest marks for the next five years.
Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, he said that he has decided to use his own vehicle instead of the one given by the government.
Referring to the need to create pleasant atmosphere at schools and hostels to enable students excel in their academics, he said that he would allot Rs 3.45 crore from ZP funds to give a facelift to 89 hostels and 55 ZP Schools across the district in the first phase.
According to the chairman, the move would benefit 10,160 inmates of hostels and 26,470 students of ZP schools.
