Power cut hits Andhra Pradesh Secretariat

The power-cut happened due to a damaged supply cable

Hyderabad: The J Block in Andhra Pradesh Secretariat, which houses as many as nine ministers’ offices, went without power supply interrupting municipal administration minister P. Narayana’s press meet.

The power-cut continued for nearly half an hour on Tuesday, following a damage in supply-cable.

The cable got punctured while AP transport, roads and buildings officials were digging parts of L Block to house Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s office.

The cable also supplies power to C Block in Telangana Secretariat, which houses Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s office.

However, there is a back-up system in the C Block. Hence, in case of disruption, alternate supply resumes power immediately.

Minister Mr Narayana waited for 10 minutes for the power supply to be resumed.

Later, the power supply was restored within half an hour to J block, said TSSPDCL deputy engineer (Saifabad) Murali Krishna. The minister came back and completed the media conference.
