Ongole: The municipal administration department is introducing ‘Online Building Plan Approval System’ in corporations and municipalities to put an end to corruption in town planning departments.
At the behest of municipal administration minister P. Narayana, the town planning officials have prepared a plan to introduce the new system and collected details from the commissioners to introduce it. The government has taken step to develop software for the purpose.
During the first phase, the government is likely to introduce this system in select municipal corporations on pilot basis. Later, it will be extended to other corporations and municipalities. If this system is introduced, the building permission approvals can be had from “Mee Seva” centres.
Ongole municipal commissioner Ms Ch. Vijayalakshmi said “The government has already trained the officials to introduce this system. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation had already introduced this system to avoid delay in sanctioning the building plan approvals.”
