Karimnagar: Jagtial MLA and Congress legislative party vice-president T. Jeevan Reddy said the modalities of the crop loan waiver were ambiguous and that the TRS-led government was trying to buy time by just making statements.
Addressing mediapersons here on Tuesday, Mr Reddy faulted the government for dilly-dallying on implementation of loan waiver even while making a promise on it during hustings and in the election manifesto. The guidelines issued by the government on loan waiver lack clarity and are disappointing to farmers, he said.
Mr Reddy also alleged that the government was trying to delay implementation of the crop loan waiver in the name of co-nstituting committees and holding parleys with the bankers. The government is trying to reduce financial burden that would be caused by the waiver by delaying its enforcement, he said.
The former minister slammed the TRS government for failing to extend financial aid to the farmers.
