Hyderabad hit with investors: KTR

Key projects to be revived, initiatives to decongest IT corridor planned

Hyderabad: A large number of small and medium-sized IT companies are flocking to Hyderabad along with big players like Amazon, Google, TCS, Wipro and even helicopter manufacturing giant Sikrosky.

Hiring in the IT sector has also picked up over the last three months. Telangana state IT minister K.T. Rama Rao said that “investor confidence” has returned to the city and state. Moreover, once the new industrial policy is announced, investments will see a huge jump across sectors, he predicted. Sector-wise policies are also being worked out to increase investments in other key sectors.

The concept of “walk to work”, especially in the IT sector, which is a hit in many other countries, will also be developed in the city. Although few IT majors have introduced the concept partially, it will be taken to a new level with townships developed along the IT corridor.

To make the city more attractive, initiatives have been planned to de-congest it and boost the leisure and lifestyle aspects. A hanging bridge (suspension bridge) across the Durgam Cheruvu is one such idea to decongest the IT hub.

A regional ring road with connecting radial roads and townships along the IT and Metro corridors are being planned to encourage the concept of “walk to work.”

Meanwhile, many key projects like the Telapur Technocity and Manchirevula Tower Project by the Anil Ambani Group are being revived. Also, companies like Coca Cola, Ikea Furniture, Johnson & Johnson, ITC and Sikorsky are coming in.

“Investor confidence is back in the IT sector, which is seeing a large number of small and medium IT companies coming, apart from the big ones. A lot of hiring is happening, especially in the IT sector. Even before we have implemented our major initiatives like decongesting the city, including more leisure and lifestyle options, IThub, Sports city, Pharma city and others, we are seeing an investor surge. ,” said IT and panchayat raj minister K.T. Rama Rao.
