Students injured as bus veered off in to canal
Rajahmundry: Several primary school students escaped miraculously with minor injuries when the bus in which they were travelling lost its control and swerved into an irrigation canal at the outskirts of Vadatippa of Mogaltur mandal in WG on Monday.
According to police and eyewitnesses, a mini school bus of Pratibha Vidya Niketan at Vempa of Bhimavaram rural mandal, started at Muthyalapalli carrying about 12 students. By the time, it reached Vadatippa, the driver lost control on the bus due to bumpy drive on R and B road and the vehicle slipped from the road towards Muthyamkodu channel.
Fortunately, one of the rear wheels of the bus got stuck to the culvert and the bus came to a halt. Bus driver helped the kids to alight the bus safely.
