BJP for more Andhra Pradesh districts
Bhimavaram: BJP wants each Lok Sabha seat be made a district like in Odisha and Karnataka.
Speaking to newsmen here on Monday, BJP state president Kambhampati Haribabu said that 25 Lok Sabha seats were existing in the state in 13 districts and felt the need to make each segment as a district to have 25 districts in the state.
He said that in that case, for each district, seven MLAs, a collector and several officials would take care of developmental works.
Referring to Odisha state, the BJP senior leader said that for 21 Lok Sabha seats existing there, the state government set up 30 revenue districts.
In Karnataka, there are 30 revenue districts for 26 Lok Sabha constituencies. Mr Haribabu said party membership drive will be taken up in 2015.
