9570 rural citizens will get to see Mysore Dasara celebrations and tourist destinations

KSRTC is launching Giridarshni, Jaladarshini, Devadarshini & Nagaradarshini economy packages
Mysore: As many as 9570 women, senior citizens and people from economically weaker sections, from rural areas of 29 taluks in Mysore, Mandya, Chamarajnagar, Kodagu and Hassan who may have never seen the Dasara festivities will be brought to Mysore in 174 KSRTC buses to see Dasara and popular tourist destinations of Mysore, in an innovative programme of KSRTC named "Dasara Darshan" from September 26 to 30.
The KSRTC is also launching Giridarshni, aladarshini, Devadarshini and Nagaradarshini economy tourism packages for tourists coming to Mysore for Dasara. It has issued privilege passes priced at Rs 50 each for rural folk, through the tahsildars of the respective taluks.
During a day long trip, those from rural areas will be taken to the Farmers' Dasara, other Dasara events, and tourist destinations including Chamundi hills, Mysore Zoo and Mysore Palace, and will be dropped back at their villages.
Employees of KSRTC will be deployed to guide the rural folk. Also over 110 family members of mahouts and kavadis of Dasara elephants will be taken on the Dasara Darshan trip. KSRTC, Divisional Manager Mr Mahesh, said the Jaladarshini package will cover Dubare, Nisarga dhama, Abbe falls, Raja seat, Harangi dam, KRS at a cost of Rs 375 for adults.
