Victim intimidated by attackers

Accused threatened the family with an alleged video of gangrape

Hyderabad: The rapists in the Kanchanbagh case had allegedly threatened the minor girl and her mother that they had secretly filmed the incident, and would upload the video on the Internet if the victim approached the police.

The cops, however, said that they did not find any such video and that it was most probably an empty threat.

Meanwhile, the South Zone police has not taken any action on the allegations made by the victim’s mother against sub inspector Md. Aijazuddin. South Zone senior officials said they have not initiated any probe against the SI, who allegedly tried to “settle” the rape case.

The 15-year-old victim was terrified to reveal the incident to her mother as she had been threatened by the accused Ali Ashraf alias Chandu and Md Ayoob. “They told my daughter that they had filmed her, and if she revealed it to anybody, they would upload the video. My daughter was so terrified initially but later she told me everything,” the victim’s mother said.

When the victim and her mother decided to approach the police, the accused came to their house and made the same threat. They threatened to kill the family if they went to the cops.
