‘Charan is quite like his father’

Srikanth speaks about his rapport with Ram Charan

Hyderabad: Srikanth and director Krishna Vamsi have got together for the third time with the actor playing an important character in Govindudu Andarivaadele. “I play Charan’s uncle, Bangari,” says Srikanth.

The film’s makers first approached Venkatesh, however the role was destined for Srikanth. “When I was in Palakollu shooting for a film, director Krishna Vamsi came to me and told me about this character. I liked it a lot and could see that this would be a notable role for my career,” says Srikanth. The character has some negative shades, but he is not a villain.

Srikanth has acted with Chiranjeevi in two films and now he is acting with Charan. “I am close to annayya Chiranjeevi, and Charan is quite like his father, in his behaviour and also in the way he respects senior artistes on the sets,” says Srikanth. He added that this is the first time that he is doing a multi-starrer with the current crop of young actors. “I would also like to work with other Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun and NTR Jr and others,” he says.

The actor adds that the film is a typical Krishna Vamsi kind of family drama with a love story woven in. “Prakash Raj plays my father and my character, although entertaining, is totally opposite to his character. I do a few bad things which he doesn’t like,” says Srikanth. Kamalinee Mukherjee plays his love interest in the film.

Talking about his son who is a child actor, Srikanth says he is playing a small role in Rudhramadevi. “But he won’t do more films until he completes his education,” says Srikanth.
