Give farm exports a thrust, demands Andhra Pradesh BJP
Eluru: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and state president Khambhampati Haribabu said that an Agricultural Export Council should be established to give a boost to farm exports and the proposal for the same has been submitted to the Union government by the party.
Addressing a meeting of district party workers here on Sunday, Mr Haribabu said that the agriculture exports would be ensured remunerative prices for farmers. He also said that the fisheries exports at the state amounted to Rs.12, 000 crore and if the state government creates infrastructure to the fisheries sector, the exports would go upto Rs.20,000 crore and the state can get more foreign exchange through the fisheries exports.
He said that the India would emerge as a strong economy in the world and the state would become the fastest growing state in future with the coordinated efforts of the BJP and Telugu Desam Party.
He said that the party was firm on completion of Polavaram project. He said that if Pulichintala project was completed in the next five years, the farmers would be benifitted a lot. He requested the government to expedite the project.
He said that the Union government led by BJP was keen on fulfilling the promises given to Andhra Pradesh. Citing the example of minister Manikyala Rao, he said that the party cadre would be given due recognition for their services and would be honoured accordingly.
