Women family members to play Batukamma

Karimnagar: Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar said women members of the families of elected representatives will take part in Bathukamma celebrations to be held at the Tower Circle in Karimnagar city on September 25. Wives, sisters, daughters and daughters-in-law of the elected representatives will be present at the celebrations to highlight the tradition of Telangana people.
He was speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday. The family members of corporators, legislators, ministers and Parliamentarians will join the women in playing Bathukamma, he said. Several legislators and ministers will also turn up at the festivities to be held at Circus Ground on September 26. Nizamabad MP K. Kavita would take part in the festival at the Ground on September 27.The municipal authorities are making elaborate arrangements for the festival.
