Create awareness on laws
Kurnool: AP Legal Services Authority Chairman Justice L. Narasimha Reddy has called upon the senior advocates, judges and district level officers to make efforts for providing free legal services to the needy people, who had no awareness to approach the courts due to poor financial conditions.
Inaugurating the legal literacy camp organised under the aegis of Legal Services Authority here on Sunday, Mr Narasim-ha Reddy, who was the chief guest on the occasion, observed that ma-ny poor people need support from all levels to get justice without any delay.
Stressing the need to build a strong and heal-thy society with ethical values, Mr Narasimha Reddy suggested the advocates and officials to take initiative for betterment of society including at individual levels.
“Poor people should get free legal service along with awareness on all type of legal matters and Acts,” he opined.
High Court justice and Kurnool portfolio judge Chandrakumar observ-ed many cases were be-ing registered pertaining to minor disputes at the villages, but they could be settled with counselling for both the parties and they can live without any further disputes in the villages.
He observed majority of cases were connected to land related disputes only.
AP Legal Services secretary Syamprasad said legal aid clinics are being functioned at all jails to provide legal services to prisoners.
Kurnool district sessions judge Venkata Jyo-thirmayee has said that nearly 462 Lok Adalat and 227 legal literacy camps have been conducted so far in the district in which 1,131 cases were settled through Lok Adalat, 1,668 criminal and 378 motor vehicle cases were also resolved.
