Members of Kala Sammelan here on Sunday came up with proposals for intensively promoting various art forms
Vijayawada: Members of Kala Sammelan here on Sunday came up with proposals for intensively promoting various art forms like dance, puppetry, playlets and others among the residents of Vijayawada who do not have easy access to such arts so far.
Speaking at the meeting, Tax Payers Association secretary M.V. Anjaneyulu said that there is need for government to promote arts by providing facilities for youngsters and children as the city became the capital.
He said Vijayawada has a history of producing huge number of artists in various fields and encouragement by government would let common people access to learn these arts and hence bring laurels to city.
The members demanded the municipal corporation to let children use local community halls and marriage halls so that those spaces are used for practice.
Mr V. Sambi Reddy, president of the association, said that coaching in such arts is today unaffordable by common public and the state government should help students from grass-root level to explore their interests so that new talent comes up.
