District Congress Commitee chief Dommeti resigns
According Sources said that Dommeti was not able to adjust in the party
Kakinada: District Congress president Dommeti Venkateswara Rao tendered resignation to his post on Saturday. He sent his resignation letter to Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Raghuveera Reddy. Venkateswarlu said that he had resigned for the district congress committee president post for his individual reasons. Sources said that Dommeti was not able to adjust in the party as there was no cadre at the grassroots level.
Meanwhile, there are differences emerging between some of the Congress leaders in the city. It is learnt that Dommeti told his followers that he would leave the party soon. He is making arrangements to join another political party either Telugu Desam or Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His followers said that Dommeti was invited by the YSR Congress also. But, Dommeti did not reveal his future plans. He said that he would take some time to reveal his future plans.
Meanwhile, the former MLC Kandula Durgesh may hold the DCC president post soon. The congress sources said that Durgesh who belong to Kapu community can manage the party affairs smoothly in the district.
