Six more children of Governemnt Urdu school from DJ Halli taken to hospital

360 children were rushed to Hospital, when they fell ill after having mid-day meals

Bengaluru: Six more children at the Government Urdu Higher Primary School in D.J. Halli were taken to Dr. Ambedkar Hospital after they complained of stomach ache and vomiting sensation during class hours on Saturday. Anxious parents, who were present on the campus, rushed them to the hospital in a police patrol vehicle.The children were treated as out-patients and discharged in the evening.

On Saturday, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Ratnakar visited the school and promised to sanction funds to improve the school infrastructure. Meanwhile, Mohammad Mohsin, Commissioner, Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has said that he will be conducting an inquiry into the DJ Halli school food poisoning incident. “Once the report is submitted, appropriate action will be taken,” he added.

On Friday nearly 360 schoolchildren were rushed to Dr Ambedkar Hospital, when they fell ill after having mid-day meals at the Government Urdu Higher Primary School. Although most children have been discharged, around 70 are still undergoing treatment at the hospital.
