High Court refuses order on agriculture market panels

A bench of CJ Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar was hearing a plea

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has already appointed persons in charge for agricultural market committees and had terminated the committees as per an ordinance dated August 16, 2014.

A bench of CJ Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar was hearing a plea by M. Tirupathi Rao and six other chairmen of agricultural market committees challenging the ordinance issued to terminate them.

AG K. Ramakrishna Reddy submitted that as the petitioners had not challenged the action of the government there was no point in hearing the petition. The bench said that it cannot hear the plea without making the person in charge a party, and refused to issue an interim order.

Vijayawada academician Bommakanti Anand Kumar moved the Hyderabad HC seeking directions to the AP government to implement examination reforms for Classes IX and X from this academic year. He said that Telangana is already following the new examination process and the government had issued orders last month okaying examination reforms for students of Classes IX and X from this academic year.

He said AP is not taking steps to implement reforms as directed by the National Curriculum Framework-2005.
