Crop loan waiver worries farmers
Farmers had already paid their loans to the bankers
Nizamabad: Sugarcane farmers are a worried lot over the implementation of crop loan waiver for them.
Under the Nizam Deccan Sugars Limited (NDSL), farmers had already paid their loans to the bankers and they fear that the March 31, 2014 cut-off date for waiver scheme would be detrimental to their interests.
Speaking to this newspaper, K. Shiva Kumar and Ch Shanker, both sugarcane farmers of Khajapur village in Bodhan mandal, said they had approached the SBH, Salura branch, for waiver. “The bank officials adjusted our loan accounts while receiving sugarcane arrears from the sugar factory," they said. If the cut-off date is March, 31 we would be ineligible for waiver.”
