Hyderabad: B.V.S Ravi, a well-known Tollywood writer, was caught driving under the influence of alcohol on Friday midnight. Jubilee Hills police stopped him while he was driving his Fiat Linea car. Famous filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma was accompanying him.
A breath analyser check showed that Ravi had consumed alcohol more than the permissible limit. This is the second time he has been caught for driving under the influence of alcohol this year, police officials said.
“The breathalyser test showed a count of 46 mg of alcohol content (which is 16 units more than the permissible limit). We registered a case under the MV Act and seized his vehicle,” said a Jubilee Hills traffic police official. He added that the writer was allowed to go home, and he will be produced before the court in two days.
B.V.S. Ravi and Ram Gopal Varma were going towards the Jubilee Hills Checkpost from Road No. 10, when the cops stopped them. Ravi will have to attend a counselling session at Goshamahal on Monday, and would have to appear in court. His vehicle, with registration number AP 09 BV 0049, is now in police custody. He was caught in April with an alcohol content of 36 mg. However, the writer had then denied the reports.
