Visakhapatnam: Vizag is poised to become an industrial hub and change is going to embrace the city in the near future as many people as well as companies will be entering Vizag and its markets.
With this evolution of Vizag resulting in a change of its demographic as well as market landscape, a few measures need to be taken so as to maintain a smooth transition from being a metropolitan to becoming a Mega city.
A well-known Vizagite, Ramana Gogula, who has made his name in the Telugu film industry as well as in the field of business, was in the city on Friday as part of series of talks organised by the Vizagapatnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Gogula, who has travelled across various countries and worked in the USA for 14 years said, “Vizag is a peaceful coastal city but things will change as it will grow bigger and become a commercial centre of the new Andhra Pradesh. Local businessmen should gear up to the competition which they will face when bigger companies and multinationals enter Vizag’s market. They need to become innovative and find out ways to maintain their identity and customer base.”
He further said, “Population explosion will be a definite outcome of this change. For this, the private as well as government organisations need to ensure that proper housing and sanitation is in place so that Vizag won’t have huge slums like other bigger cities.”
