IIT’s technical fest in Kovai

The IIT Madras will organise a two-day technical-mela at Kumaraguru College of Technology
Coimbatore: The IIT Madras will organise a two-day technical mela with a series of workshops, events and lectures for engineering students from September 20 at Kumaraguru College of Technology.
Called the Sampark, the mela will be the Coimbatore edition of the Shaastra, which is a popular technical festival held in Chennai every year. Sampark Coimbatore 2013 witnessed a 1500- strong participation from colleges across the city providing an interactive platform for some of the brightest minds of the city.
This year, with new and improved events, Sampark provides an exciting forum for the innovative minds of Coimbatore. The events will include Autonomous Robotics Workshop, Android Workshop, How Things Work (HTW) competition to test scientific and technological knowledge, Project X a creativity event and ScEnt: One of the most exciting and competitive events at Sampark is the Science and Entertainment quiz (ScEnt).
Prizes worth Rs 9,000 and other incentives will be given away to celebrate and bring the spirit of engineering closer to the students. With footfalls of 25,000 each year, Shaastra is well-known for being one of the biggest and best technical festivals in Asia and the first in the world to be ISO 9001:2008 certified. The 16th edition of the festival will be held from January 3 to 6.
