Hyderabad: After living with a deep sense of disappointment due to the bifurcation of the state, there is some cheer for the people of AP as Chief Minister Naidu is planning a festival dhamaka for them. The TD government is preparing an action plan to give festival gifts to the people of the state for Dasara and Diwali. Clothes, dhotis, saris and essential commodities will be given to elders. Books and sweets will given to children. There is even a proposal to distribute crackers. Social welfare minister R. Kishore Babu said the list of items to be given as gifts to BPL families will be finalised at the next cabinet meeting.
“The gift baskets how many items and in what form would be discussed and are likely to finalised in the next cabinet meeting,” the minister said. The government is also planning big programmes like Neeru Chettu in which saplings will be planted and water harvesting structures constructed with public help.
