Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority chief shifted after complaints

Neerabh Kumar Prasad was transferred following feed back from the industries department
Hyderabad: Hours after Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao criticised officials for delaying permission to multinational companies in the state on Thursday, Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority commissioner Neerabh Kumar Prasad was transferred following feed back from the industries department on Thursday.
Mr Pradeep Chandra, principal secretary, industrial department, has been given additional charge as HMDA commissioner.
Speaking to this newspaper Mr. Prasad said the transfer followed feedback from the industries department. The issue is with regard to the sanction pertaining to a unit proposed to be set up by Johnson and Johnson.
As per the HMDA building permission rules for industries, sanction can be given once a 40-feet road is developed along the industry. However the units wanted the processes to be followed un due course, and not parallel with the HMDA rules.
HMDA had cleared the plans but it would have released sanction once the 40 feet road was developed for the unit. Generally the plans are sanctioned and they are released only once the road is developed, sources said.
“If HMDA building rules are not followed, I cannot do anything. In my two-and-a-half-year tenure, I did my best to focus on the master plans, the Hussainsagar cleaning project, transportation and other major projects,” Mr Prasad said
Asked about his new posting, Mr Prasad said, “I have no clue where I have been transferred.”
