Hyderabad Metro pillars can’t be built without linkages

Wherever permissions have been issued, pillars have been constructed
Hyderabad: Frog jumping, that is building pillars at one place and then at another, without working on connections in between, is not possible for Metro Rail.
The project being linear, connecting one end of the city to another requires permissions, clearances and co-operation from all government agencies across the complete carriage way. Presently, wherever permissions have been issued, pillars have been constructed but there are gaps which are stalling the work.
The gaps are from Panjagutta to Khairatabad, Khairtabad to Lakdikapul, Nampally to Gandhi Bhavan, where works are disrupted resulting in the corridor from Miyapur to L. B. Nagar being affected.
Hyderabad Metro Rail officers explained, “We have been trying at various levels to sort out the permissions but there must be clarity from the government to the local agencies. Presently, there is too much of confusion.”
On the other hand, rumour is, the land meant for Metro Rail project at Raidurg has been given to some private individual due to which concessionaire L&T Metro is upset.
Mr N. V. S. Reddy, managing director of Hyderabad Metro Rail, clarified, “Government Order no 123 of August 28, 2012 has allotted 15 acres of land in Raidurg village in Ranga Reddy district to HMR project for establishment of a terminal station and development of parking and circulation area for corridor III. The land is already being developed hence there is no truth in these false allegations.”
The project in progress is already causing traffic snarls and dust pollution, and people of the city feel that there must be some clarity over its completion and execution for the benefit of all.
